Found this in my draft folder dated 6/17/11. Four days after JT's accident.

Someone needs to write a book of things not to say to a parent who's child has suffered a serious life threatening injury. Here are a few of what has been said to me:

* Yelling: "OH MY GOD JERI! OH MY GOD!" This doesn't help me...
* "We were all talking about what happened, this could have happened to any of our kids." But, it didn't. It happened to mine.
* "This must all be so hard for you." Ummm...you funckin' think?!?!?!
* Just standing at the foot of the hospital bed sucking your teeth and shaking your head. I Just want to punch you in the throat.
